Default Shannonville Track day (Fabi Track) - May 29th

Hello all,

I'm starting to build a list for the track day signup on the 29th of May.

We have the track Saturday evening from 5:30 - 8:30 pm, cost will be $50.

A little background - The Fabi track at shannonville is probably one of the safest tracks you can learn on. It's not very fast (save for the 1/4 mile back straight) and very technical. It's also very fun and you'll spend the whole day mastering your line, and there are some pretty good photo ops.

This is how it will work, for those not familiar with our track days. I am limiting the track day to about 30 cars. This gives you plenty of room on the track while keeping the crowd down.

We usually have a briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.

For those that have never been to the track, I encourage you to try it out, even if you're still on RE92s (they'll suck, and burn up quick, but it's still fun)

All those interested in attending this track day on May 29th

Email to (japantyper@yahoo.ca) and Sign up

i.e.
- My name is your name
- Contact: your Phone #

Helmets are not mandatory, but you will have to sign a disclaimer at the track. (if you have helmets, it won't hurt to bring them up).

I'm sorry to do this to the poster, but more as a service to the less initiated on the board, but anyone attending a track lapping day where helmets arn't mandatory is just begging for trouble. In fact if you read this and still go, you're an idiot.

And as I expect to be at the track that Saturday night (just finishing up Solo 1), myself and 50 others will be glad to tell you that.

New drivers are always worried that people will laugh at them when they come to their first event and they arn't any good.. Wrong... we'll laugh at you because of shit like this.

If you go to this, please buy or at the WORST case, borrow a helmet.

Though personally I wouldn't touch such an event with a 40 foot pole. In fact, I've watched these evening events at Shannonville result in such foolishness as a car stopping in the middle of the track so the drivers girlfriend can get out and take a picture. ON A HOT (LIVE) TRACK.

*shudder*

I mean the poster is telling you the track is the safest but they won't mandate helmets. What's wrong with this picture?
