There are a LOT of mechanical improvements on the '04 though, even the brake pad material is new and the master cylinder has been recalibrated to give a firmer pedal feel. Although I don't like the new look, some of the mechanical improvements are hard to look past.

I still cannot believe that Honda does not install a full set of proper gauges in a hard core sports car! Where is a proper oil pressure and volt meter gauge?

all forward gears have carbon fiber synchros

why does a car need a volt meter and oil pressure gauge?

Actually, if I were adding gauges I would add
- engine oil pressure
- engine oil temperature
- transmission oil temperature

Gauges are great additions when you track a car. If the readings start to indicate unusual pressures or temperatures you can often save the complete failure by stopping and finding the cause of the problem.
