a lot of dealers get into deals for bulk oils all based on lowest cost oil (which still meets manufacturer specs albeit). Those deals can change from time to time, so one day your dealer is using Quaker state oils , 6 months later they are pushing Valvoline , etc.... . I've never been a fan of bulk oils as you never know what is going into the engine. They could even put in the wrong viscosity by accident or by someone who just doesn't give a shit. I like to know what oil is going in my car and to use the same oil once i find one that I like. Thus I change my own oil. Dealers also kill you on price if you want to ugprade to synthetic oils over basic conventional ones they push.

My recommendation would be to try and learn how to do your own oil change.

I got my first oil change done at honda. $120 later, and Ill do it myself always. I was blown away at the amount I was charged! Figure a way to do it yourself for sure, or you can actually supply them the oil, then they just charge you for labour.

Motoss, do what is mentioned above and see if you can supply them with the oil, then they should only charge you for the labour and a proper Honda filter and any related charges.

I do exactly this when I get lazy or when I'm living near campus and don't have access to a jack/lift. The local Honda dealership there charges $20 to change the oil (provided I bring them the oil and filter, which I would HIGHLY recommend you do). So far I've had no issues and as a plus they also check your FLUIDS and stuff for you. I know it's not very hard to do that yourself, but it's an added plus since it's free.

Also, if you're a detail freak like me and don't want them to wash your car you should mention that too
