transimission fluid~
Do we need to change transimmion oil every spring & winter for the S2000?
My dealer told me to bring the car in to change transmission oil every spring & summer.

NO! Sounds to me like your dealer wants to make max bucks off you. Now that they have proven themselves to be somewhat "unknowledgeable" or "unscrupulous", best beware of anything else they may tell you. Pretty soon, they'll send you a note saying you need to come in to change the air out in your tires.
Seriously, check your owner's manual. even in the "severe" schedule, your tranny fluid can go a year or two or more (I can't remember exactly, I'm not at home to check). Some folks (myself included) tend to change the fluid once a year, but this is only because I can do it myself and the fluid is not that pricey. The job is fairly easy if you have the tools. The dealer, however, will still charge you the standard rate.

OK, I've had a chance to look in the "book".
For MY '00, it's every 2 years using the "severe" schedule.
For later model years, it's every 4 years ("severe").
Your diff fluid, however, should be every year ("severe").
There's always exceptions to the rule. If you track the car, you should be changing these fluids much more often, so did your dealer advise you on the basis of you tracking your car? Even so, every 6 months for a tranny fluid change is too often.

I think if you store your car in the winter, it would not be a bad idea to change the fluid in the spring. I only have 10,000kms on my car and when spring hits im going to change all the fluids.
That includes
-Engine Oil
-Transmission Oil
-Differential Fluid
-Brake Fluid
-Clutch Fluid
-Antifreze
This may be extreme but its just some extra piece of mind.
Im going to do all this myself so it wont cost much. $75 Max
Peace

I change my tranny and diff fluid once a year, even though my dealer said don't bother..
twice a year is wayyy excesive!
Brake fluid I do twice a year.
I moderatly track my car, and autocross, when I can get up early enough, which ain't often
