Default Is this true???.....please help!!!!

well the other nite i was out on a cruise with a girly showing off the ride when my check engine light came on. so i took it in the next day bright and early in the morning. I got back my car the next day and when i got in it at the dealer, the light was still on. well i went back into the dealer(Formula Honda-markham and finch) to ask why the light was still on...he read over my invoice and asked me what kind of gas i have been using....only the best for my baby...octane 94 sunoco...he told me that gas is to rich and i should use no higher than 89..which is plus at sunoco...so i got in my car to leave the dealer and the light came off.....i emptied out my octane 94 and filled her right up with 89plus. a little after cruising around with another girl showing off the ride(ssshhhhh dont tell the other one!!!) my check engin light came on again.... does anyone know whats goin on or is the dealer feeding me B.S.??????
What kind of gas do you guys use???
This is what the invoice said
complaint: check and report engine light on
cause: code po301-cylinder misfire number one
correction: cleared codes and retested. fault is intermittent. no fault found at this time.

my car is a 2000 w/25300kms

thanx for all your info
Darryl

Total bullshit, and so typical from those ers..never take your car back there..ever!!!

I use Ultra 94 in my car all the time.. I think the manual says use 96 or something crazy... that is, by far the stupidest thing I have ever heard.

Take is somewhere else and have them look at it, if it costs you any money, send the invoice to Formula with a big log of shit in an envelope

"he told me that gas is to rich and i should use no higher than 89."

I will make sure I will never go to formula.

your CEL has nothing to do with the 94 octane, you should take your car to albert from SpeedStar and let him take a look.

I still cant believe you actauly listened to that idiot from the dealer.

Man I am so scared to take my car to the dealer for TSB

I went to Castle to get my Softop fixed and they actually did a good job on it, so if I have to visit the dealer, Castle will be the one I take my car to.

If you put lower than 91 in your car you are running the risk of pinging, or having the engine go into limp home mode...

DO NOT DO IT.

Id call Honda Canada and tell them that the dealer has recommended that you do something contrary to what the owners manual, and the sticker on your fuel door, indicates.

I would also call the service manager at Formula. He/she should know about this.

It might be you didn't turn your fuel cap whatever number of clicks they recommend.

Although I haven't had a bad experience with Formula yet, there are enough stories here to make me scared.

Too bad cause they are 1 minute from my office.

Anyone know anything about Markham Honda? They are pretty close.

Castle Honda is just freakin far for me....
