Default VTEC

Hey guys, this maybe a stupid question but I am still new to the s2k sorry If this is a noob question.

I have experienced this twice:

when I just start the car and start driving I take it to VTEC sometimes but the car stop/blogs (kind of like its in neutral and does not move) around 7 to 8rpms and i have to switch gears. This occur thru 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I did not try Vtec in 4th because i don't normally vtec in 4th gear.

Is this because I haven't warmed up the car yet? or is this something i need to get check? cause once the car is warmed up I do not run into this at all.

advise and recommendation please!!

thanks

Yes, you need to have the car at optimum temperature in order to engage vtec.

wait for 3 bars in other words.

If you do and it still happens, your map sensor may have issues.

99% of the time its b/c you didn't warm up.

Although I just wait until I get around 6 bars just to be safe.

ohh my god....
I really hope this isn't what the s2k community is turning into. Please warm up your car before you go revving the shit out of it

I try to hit 8K... while backing out. mad pop when vtak engage.

not sure about the s2k, but older vtec systems rely on oil pressure for engagement: if you burn enough oil no more vtek.
