Perhaps, the flip side to that is since they do not require the double broadcast of a single event, more money could be invested in the cost of producing a HD video.

That should drop the price of the commerical equipment itself.

If Japan and a chunk of Europe are already there, not sure why we couldn't be there in 2 years

Its to go in my media room. It is bright, 14ish by 14ish with 20 foot ceilings.

With the ceilings I dont think that it is worth it to do a dedicated theater sound set up, so Ill just use my Sony Dreamsystem, which works pretty well for what it is.

I think that 50 inch is the size I need.

I remember what you said about the separate tuner. I want that, not a builtin tuner.

Ill call your guy Tim. Where did you get yours Nimesh?

Ive done more research. You need to sit no further than 7 feet away for these high end plasmas to make sense. I will be about 10 to 11 feet away and ppl are saying dont blow the dough on a super high end plasma if youre that far - either go with a projector (which I cant do in this room - too bright) or dont go super high end because you wont see the resolution.

More work to do.

The guys at Canadian Sound can make some recommendations. They do some very high end installs.

Dell.ca has the Harmony 880 remote on sale for $129 free shipping, Jan 3rd and 4th only. I think I will pick one up. It's $249 at futureshop currently.

I also ordered their 22" display for $299 free shipping off the same flyer.

Thought these were decent deals.

go to the back of the flyer...

You need a plasma size based on how far away you are planning to sit. 42" 6-10 feet, 50" 10-14 feet, 60" 14-18 feet is the general rule. I think "people" are wrong. 10-11 feet is perfect for a 50" plasma.
