Default Wheel bearings

We had an bit of an animated conversation on Saturday, over an excellent burger, about wheel bearings.
Who makes the best bearings and which should you avoid?
My contention was Timkin, as the price and quality are great. 'Oh, no,' was the response, 'Timken bearings are not good!'
'But that's what Rob Robinette uses,' I retorted.
'Better check that out, we think you're wrong', was the firm response.

Well, I did, and Timkin bearings are what Rob uses.

Check it out dudes!

Let the debate begin!

My vote is for SKF.

Maybe AST if they make the right ones?

I'd use whatever bearings Honda uses, they seem to last a very long time, very rare to see them fail prematurely.
I'm not sure what bearings Ford uses, when I had my last Ford SUV bad bearings were common place, I'd like to know who they use so I can avoid them at all costs.
Timkin seems to have closed much of their North American production in recent years, so I don't see any reason to support them over other brands if price and quality is reasonably similar.
