Perfect. Belongs in the library. I would also add that a clear bra is a near-necessity and a hard-top is a luxury if you already have a glass rear window.

Any concerns with leaving the softtop down the entire winter with the HT on?

Good read!

When I first got this car, I had no doubt that this will be my ALL-YEAR ROUND card -- why? simply cuz I can't afford a beater!

You buy a car, you drive it ... that is all.

Its gonna depreciate anyways, might as well squeeze out every ounce of fun out of it.

The only reason why I'd get a second car is if I need the back seat, or its a track car

Mine is folded for nearly 6 months every year going into the 4th winter. Yes, the plastic window will show a crease in the spring but you can minimize this with the installation of the static cling window tint and a roof well mat of some kind:

Also, when you do finally put the top back up for the first time each year, wait till you have a warm, sunny day and drive the car for a while to get the top "warmed" up first.

I agree with you too Simon. I constantly hear the same story you get. It is like a guilt people put on you for driving the car in the winter. I know the S2000 is a nice car but it isn't some exotic Ferrari. I am in the process of finding some winters for my car as well.

Good write up.

This is a point worth remembering. Most people do not realize that fresh snows or out of the ruts is the better place to be. During my first year of university (1,340 ft up the mountain) I had a guy who was driving a truck behind me came out and shouted at me for not driving in the ruts. There was two huge ruts in the road that was left by the bus earlier I avoided the rug because I couldn't find traction so I went off on the high side. When we made it to the next light the guy came out of his truck and said "would you please stop putting more snow on the path?" He looked angry so I didn't want to argue or tell an angry man off. So I told him he's more than welcome to go in front of me. He went in front of us for about 5 minutes then he got stuck. I kept my distance and took a fresh route and left him in his path.
