What stuff would that be? An erasor on a drill? That works well on under the hood parts.

seriously, a really fine steel wool "should" work better than any cream or polish...i've tried P21S (specific for high-end chrome wheels) and the steel wool worked way better.

but, bring your stuff....let's see what it can do.
