We are proud to introduce our new Wilwood Track-Day Brake System. Building on the success of our AP Competition Brake System, we produced this brake kit, with the intention of bringing race-inspired engineering to the broader motorsports market. Utilizing many of the specifications of our AP kit, we have designed what is in essence, a light-competition brake system, employing high-end track & street components. The result is a system which provides incredible performance for cost, accessible to the broader driving enthusiast market, which can be easily upgraded to race-performance components if you choose.

We chose to engineer our brake setup around AP racing components based on their continued success in top tier motorsports, such as the American Le Mans series, Grand-Am, NASCAR Sprint Cup, NASCAR Nationwide Series, and Formula 1.

Our goal for this rear braking system was to provide a high-torque rear brake solution for the Honda S2000 which retains the stock e-brake. This rear brake system was developed to be used in conjunction with our AP Competition Front Brake Kit for the S2000. While our Competition Front Brake Kit performs exceptionally well, the stock rears (or '99 spec for that matter) left some additional braking potential on the table. Our rear brake kit utilizes the stock caliper with a billet 6061 aluminum relocation bracket to increase and optomize rear brake torque by allowing the use of our custom 330mm two piece rotor (vs 294mm stock rotor). Our rotor is designed with a hard anodized aircraft-grade billet 2024 aluminum hat to withstand extreme temperatures, and is mated to our 330mm directional curved vane discs with aero-space hardware.

Since its introduction, the Öhlins DFV line has revolutionized coilovers, and as a result, no longer are customers forced to choose between performance and ride quality. The Öhlins DFV valving design made it possible to have a truly track worthy damper that was also not only livable, but actually comfortable on the street, without sacrifice to performance driving. As suspension engineers, the one thing that always frustrated us was being forced into the mold of a standard off the shelf suspension settings. The vast majority of our Ohlins customers ultimately decide to purchase new springs for their DFVs, and we designed this SBG Exclusive suspension kit around the most popular settings amongst our customers, and included optimized valving to accept a wide range of performance street and track worthy spring rates. We include stronger and lighter aluminum lower mounting forks and custom top hats with teflon lines spherical bearings. The optimized valving curves offer much improved ride quality over the standard DFV kit, and elevated performance out of the box. For roughly the cost of a DFV kit and replacement springs, this kit is a no-brainer for any S2000 driver!

We sell a lot of Öhlins DFV and although we hear almost nothing but great things about them the single recurring comment is that the rear damper doesn't allow the car to be lowered to the ideal height. Regardless of if you are running high spring rates for the track, enough preload to achieve ultimate performance on the standard springs or even trying to live life hellaflush, the standard lower mount design leaves a lot to be desired. We recommend a high amount of rear pre-load with near standard spring rates (8-10KG) when setting up the conventional DFV suspension due to the limited available stroke. 10-30mm of spring pre-load is needed to obtain an optimal balance of compression and rebound and stay off the bump stops for best ride quality. This does come at a cost however, as it will limit the amount of ride height adjustment the can be achieved. As pre-load increases, the damper length must decrease to keep the car at the same ride height. Unfortunately the standard lower mount does not allow the car to be lowered as much as many people would like, especially with the correct amount of preload. This is where our mounts come in!
