2NR Werks Mugen Built & Tuned AP2 turbo
Well Saturday was the day we hit the start button on this beautiful 2004 Rio Mugen low compression built and sleeved 2.2L. After 20 minutes of it's first start, the oil was changed and we went out to the decal install at Primogen's house. We logged 56 miles and hit our first 12psi @ exactly 3.8 miles on the new motor with the tuner in the passenger's seat giving me the green light. This motor was absolutly a dream to build with the tolerances and oil clearances being only .0015-.0019" off factory specs. It just does not get much closer than that folks.
Just some facts for you gearheads:
87mm AEBS sleeved block
9:1 CP Pistons
Inline Pro Billet Connecting Rods
ARP Head Studs
Inline Pro Turbo kit
SE61 Turbo
Precision 600 HP FMIC
880cc Injectors
AEM EMS 1052
UEGO & Boost Gauges
Sleeved Block
Short Block Components
New AP2 Crank Installed
Applying plasticguage to check oil clearances
What we measure after the plasticgauge is torqued
Setting and filing the ring gaps
Installing the pistons
Just like I was taught at 15 how to build engines, my son shows the same interest at 11.
The short block assembled, ready for the head.
The Motor just installed and bolted down.
The Turbo area.
Boosted cars need lots of fuel.
The final product.
I'm so happy!
Final pictures and dyno sheet soon to follow.
