Thanks Ron I'll look into it. I have taken over all my service again but Feb & work are not going to be kind schedule-wise. New phone system going in and I guarantee a complete cluster. Loads of extra days scheduled for me alreay. Too bad they aren't scheduling any extra $$ to go along with it.

When I got mine put on and mentioned it was a repaint, this is what they told me for removal. They said the steamer penetrates the glue better and prevents the bra from peeling the paint and makes removal easier.

It also depends what bra was put on the car. I've heard the older 3Ms are a PITA.

If you get it replaced, it is worth the couple extra $$ to get the XPEL Ultimate. Unless you are standing within a few feet of my car, you can't tell there is a bra on the hood, and it would be impossible to notice if only the front bumper was done.

Tell 'em Steven with the blue s2000 sent you.
+1 for Ryan. They installed our G37 clear bra and said that they can take them off too (often times if one needs warranty work at the end of its life, they remove it and put a new one back on.

Not sure how old you are but, eventually......you will learn in life to pay the experts to do what they do best. Ryan is the "Ultimate" at what he does, which is make your life drama free. Never hire a plummer to your electrical work. Don't think for a second that your effort is worth the savings. Ryan has the experience, the tools and the ability. He has done three of my cars and will the only one who does the rest of them.......................

I agree that it is best to hire a professional, Unfortunately I contacted Ryan and he would have nothing to do with the removal which is the object here, so the level of professionalism is not even an issue. He said he would remove it for me for his straight hourly rate which could have run into the thousands of dollars.

I did not try steam but then again I do not own a steamer. Any way it is an ultimate pain in the ASS to remove. I guess I could do it faster now that I know how to do it but never again.

[/quote]I remember your bra was pretty baked on and cracked. You can pick up a clothes steamer at walmart for about $30

good rule to follow in future for clear bras is to remove them after about 3-4 years at the most....they may claim longer life but i have learned its not worth the hassle

and get them installed and uninstalled by professionals

Well I've always been a big fan of the "blue wrench". So while digging thru all my stuff to crank up RC aircraft production again I ran across my old Monocote gun. Not nearly so much heat as a commercial heat gun but will get a user friendly hot enough I do believe to be just the blue wrench for this project.
