Clear Bra Removal
My plan is to do my bra every 5 years. XPEL says its good for 10, and the car basically never sits and bakes in the sun, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Okay all done. Here's the method and I know I didn't suffer nearly as much as Chip doing this. Have prob 3 hrs in the deal and part of that trial w/diff chems to remove the adhesive after the bra was off. Apparently back when, 3M used (maybe still does??) an adhesive that was a real nasty thing to remove. SO I fought 3M, with 3M!
Used Monokote (heat) gun to help with removel. (This thing gets hot but not like big industrial heat guns). I thank my RC airplane building experience in having that around!
A little patience. Honestly most of it came off pretty easy but the last about 20% of the hood was a Chip experience. PATIENCE.
USE a plactic tape smoother thingy....like we put decals on the car with. Use it under the back side a bit to get the edges up and pull carefully.
3M Adhesive remover in an aerosol can. Kicks that adhesive's a$$. DON'T RUB TOO HARD!!!! (shouldn't need to).
Still need to do the nose but that will be a post Grand Prix event.
