Ebay suction cup camera mount
So I wanted to get a camera mount to mess around with and to have for the dragon in April. I read a few things about the ones offered on eBay and the reviews were decent. So I went ahead and bought one. It cost me $5.55 shipped and it was from a vendor in the US. I received it in just a few days a gave it a whirl.

Just figured I'd share for anyone else that wants to pick one up for the hell of it.
I dont know that I'd risk putting it on the outside of the car but the suction on this thing is strong. I couldnt pull it off the window once it was attached.

Looking at the mounted pic below, you'll have to have the camera upside down. Most cameras will flip the video on the camera screen so you can see it correctly. The actual file on the PC will be upside down but can easily be rotated using Windows Movie maker.

Vibration was very very minimal. The tighter you make sure you tighten the hinge points the less it will vibrate. Also, our camera is dumb and the tripod mount is way off to one side so all of the weight of the camera hanging to one side of the mount could account for the very slight movement.
Enjoy!

FYI
Something I have noticed over the years with cameras and mounting them in moving vehicles.
Sony's picture stabilization technology is the best in any video camera I have ever experienced. Any mount will allow for some camera movement but a Sony camera will work best to reduce the amount of vibration that translates to the finished movie/ picture.
No I do not work for Sony, i dont own Sony stock just imparting my wisdom and experience on the subject. If you are in the market for a video camera for use in you car I suggest you look at Sony.

What's your angle here Barry? Trying to sell some old Sony equipment?
j/k
I agree though, the antishake they put on cameras has gotten much better. I dont think ours has it (have to check again) but regardless I was happy with the performance of the mount
