engine seized? PLEASE HELP
well i was driving home from work and it was a crazy storm here in tampa,Fl...long story short i was going insanely slow through a puddle when suddenly my car just shut off and wouldnt turn back on...im thinking that my aem intake sucked up water and the engine is seized. Im just looking for any other advice that would be helpful. has this happened to anyone else? does insurance cover it if it still has full coverage on it? please help...thanks in advance..
ouch...sounds like a hydrolock for sure.....AEM V2? V3?
Sucks to hear man....How deep was this puddle? Sounds like it might have had a name...
I have always told people with AEM CAI's they are great and you would basically have to submerge the damn thing before it would hydrolock the car.
Future reference: puddles are not worth your cars engine. Stop, turn around, find another way...the inconvenience of driving around the puddle is def. better than replacing the engine.
Not sure how you would explain the hydrolock with the stock air box though...at that point you would have to have driven through a puddle that was windshield deep to get water into the stock airbox....

im not sure what aem intake it was because it came with the car when i bought it...im just going to tell the insurance company that i bought the car with the part on it already and that i had no control over what happened because it was basically flooded all around the air force base that i work at...

Sucks man....good luck with insurance. They do cover this is most cases so lets hope they do.
This is why I will not keep a CAI on any of our cars...FL floods too damn easy lol
I suggest getting the K&N FIPK when she's all fixed up.
