Default Grinding noise

Hi everyone,

I know a lot of you are more technical than I am. I'm having a grinding noise from my front driver's side wheel. It started happening on left turns, but now it primarily happens on right turns even without braking. I have 47,000 on my '05.

My first thought is brake pads, but I would think that would make noise all the time, not just on turns. From searching other forums on here it sounds like it may be a wheel bearing too. I pulled the wheel and took a look, and I think the inner brake pad is low. I'm going to change those this weekend, but my question is:

Does this sound like brake pads or a wheel bearing, or should I be checking something else?

Thanks,

Greg

It happened to me. Got new brakes and the noise went away...
Mine was coming from the right front wheel. Every time I made a turn
I would hear the grinding noise. Eventually it would do it all the time, not just on turns.

Make sure that your rotors are not rutted from the rivots in the pads. When ya get to low that can happen. Check both sides of the rotor

Thanks guys. I figured that would be the case, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't overlooking anything. I would hate to change parts that don't fix the problem.

turn your rotors and flush and use new brake fluid... could have a sticking caliper...
