Default Interesting things to do/see in Tampa?

I'm taking the gf down to Tampa for the TSO concert on December 11th for our anniversary. We'll probably be staying a few days and the concert isn't until later at night, so that gives us plenty of time to kill.

Just wondering if you guys had any suggestions of fun/interesting stuff to see/do while we're down there? Neither of us have really spent much time in Tampa at all, so we don't have much planned. Just looking for stuff like museums, exciting/fun activities, sights, good restaraunts, or out of the ordinary stuff.

Dali museum in St. Pete. Haven't been but it's on my list of things to do since he's one of my favorite surrealist artists.

are you looking for culture (museums aquariums etc) or local uniqueness?

Do a historical tour of Ybor city or go to sponge docks in Tarpon Springs for the day.

Clearwater beach if you want to experience the gulf or do a charter fishing trip if you are into that

Been there many times actually. I love Dali. I'll probably go back again since I don't think she's ever been.

Both.

Just kind of trying to pool ideas right now so we can make our plan of attack. We both enjoy all kinds of stuff though. I would love to do a charter fishing trip but I'm guessing they'd be out of our price range. Looking for not-so-expensive stuff, haha.

What is that? Just a good restaurant? I love a good steak. Will definitely look into it.

You can check out Derby Lane dog track.

I just went this past weekend on a date and it was actually pretty fun. I could care less about gambling but I won some money and the track has some history (one of the best in the country).

Bern's is a high end, 5 star deal...worth every penny and you MUST do the dessert room and the tour. figure at least 150.00 per person to do it right

jumping on a head boat for fishing about 25 miles out should not be expensive but you have the share the boat with 50 other people...a little too "tourist" for me but if you want to do some open ocean fishing it can be done on the cheap side

That steak from Bern's better fall apart in my mouth for $150 a plate. Lemme guess it's one of the ala carte joints?

It is an experience. But you can go there and watch your pennies. Everything is so good that you could order a hamburger steak and it would be without compare.
