My guess would be neither. Looks to be relief cuts for clearance, see alot of that in the domestic scene with the LS guys.

you guys are funny........no issues, this was before installation of the stroker motor and built head, Rick just wanted to see how big the oversized valves are and yes those are some deep relief cuts in the CP Pistons , the light and angle kinda make it look like it may be damaged where the swirls are from machining,,,,but rest assured its perfect

OH Good, looked like a nice new built motor that had the timing offwhen cranked the 1st time.
