Default Shuttle Launch Meet?

Anyone see the shuttle go up this morning at 6:21am? I did, and it was awesome as usual. I have seen many shuttle launches from over here but I have never gone to see a launch over at the Cape.
There are only 3 more shuttle launches and then the program is suspended, maybe indefinitely...who knows.

Couple of questions:

1. anyone ever gone to see a launch? is it worth it to go?

2. would anyone be interested in a road trip/meet to go see a launch and maybe visit the space center?

right now the projected launch dates are:

1. May 28th 2:28pm
2. July 29th 7:51am
3. Sept 16th 11:57am

obviously these dates and times are subject to change based on many different factors but I would love to go see a launch before the program ends.

Actually that sounds like load of fun. I've lived here all my life myself and have never made it to a launch and would love to see one first hand.

Definitely would prefer a weekend launch date but either way I'm down and I'm sure Jen would like to see it too.

I see there are no weekend launches but that's ok. Definitely can't do May so I'd be in for July or Sept.

the only problem I see is: launch cancellation or time movement due to weather or other unforeseen issue....

I imagine the July 29th launch time is based around afternoon thunderstorms....

we'll see what we can do. I am definitely going to one of these though even if I have to spend the night because of delay's. =)

How far a drive is Cap Canaveral? About 2 hours? I wouldn't be pissed of we made it over there and the launch got changed. We'd just head to Disney for the rest of the day lol
