Default The Tampa scene..

Well I'll be moving to Tampa in October of this year. Coming from San Antonio I can say we're not a very.. active group out here despite my numerous attempts to unify the community.

So - Hows the scene in Tampa? It looks like there are some good meets and it was very refreshing to see seemingly genuine responses to the guy living in Taiwan. I'm not sure where I'll be living just yet (thinking a loft in Channelside but thats TBD) - or much about the area (night life, car scene, etc) - so any responses are appreciated.

As for the S2Ki community - we are pretty active as you can see via the Tampa and Florida forums.

Non D2ki: the Tampa Bay area always has something going on whether it is Cultural, Party, Parade, just about anything and everything. In the occasion that this part of Florida is lame, Orlando is not that far away and you can damn near always find something of your liking there!

your going to love the tampa s2k community! we almost always have something going on, usually twice a month or more is not unordinary and we average around 15-20 cars per meet. we have even gotten as many as 30 once(besides the spgp hard rok meet )

tampa in general is also a fun place to live. btw im pretty sure you will be hearing trains all through the weehours of the night and day if you live in channelside from what ive heard. but there are some bad ass lofts down there too!

one other thing, and this is HUGE. YOU MUST HAVE A GARAGE or expect your s to be either robbed, stolen, or vandalized. it sucks but it will happen.

J/K I get the best of both worlds living here in Lakeland. Both crews are very welcoming and fun. Often times at some meets the two become one.
Wait - two crews what?

unlike some areas of the country that have 5 or 6 states tied into one group Florida is an active state and has 5 groups , Tampa , Orlando , Jacksonville , South Florida and the panhandle .
