That would be great. Do you think the teflon idea is workable?

When I had mine replaced (for the same issue, at no charge to me) I told the guy replacing it where I thought it was coming from. Before he put the new top on, he sanded and painted the rough edges on that curved piece. No problems since.
You guys have me paranoid about this now. John please post up the pic of the bar/frame member that is causing the damage and what can be done to it to prevent this from happening.
You can see how while the top is in the up position it would line up wih the bend in the cross bar. Pic 1
If you look at the 3rd shot with the top in a 75% down position how much the fram elbow now is in line with the area in quetion. You cn see the spot o the canvas that makes contact . If you look at the top in its full up position it lnes up perfet with the bend in the rear bar but as the top goes down it lines up with that elbow . Put your tp down to where it is about 20 to 24 inchs from full down and you willl see what I mean . The back side of that albow is the sharp area.
The sharpest area will be on the low side of the far fram peice that is on the far sideof the elbow. If you look at the connection where the Rivet/bolt hold those 2 peices together. his is the issue with the AP2 roofs that get the typial cut in the top rear area of the car . My01 is just starting to develope holes in the top on the fold lines and this is more due to the age , material drying out and being folded back and fowarth as the top goes down. I have minor wear spots where the frame contacts the top but have no wear through because the AP1s do not have the rally sharp area on the back section of the frame . Myplane is to get some Blue Jean patches that are iron on and place those on the inside of the top ,Ironing with the hot side on the jeans material of course. This will give the canvas of the roof some extra strength. I figure 5 or 10 bucks for the patches or some sort of patch kit anyways.
If you notice the pointer , this sharp are will be beginning there but on the other side of THAT frame member but lower than the pointer is on the frame. FYI
My brother has a sharp area there too. Mine is not that way, I wonder if the frame is produced by more than one company, I do not see why though with the low production of this car .
