It was a 2000 Civic Si. I hit it directly head on. Destroyed the front bumper, subframe, radiator, deployed airbags. Since it was pretty much in the center, I never knew if there was damage to the frame rails, but it was substantial without even touching the suspension.

Sorry to hear, glad you are OK.

As for this guy who chased you, did he actually assault you?

I guess from your story he did not and apparently he did nothing worthy of a charge given the police let him go.

I am not an expert so this is just my opinion but it sounds like this one is on you. I think you are going to be hard pressed to get his insurance company to pay for anything if he was not involved in the accident (didn't come in contact with you) and was not cited for anything at the scene.

Good Luck getting the car sorted out.

it all happened very fast there must have been a cop around the corner about 1 minute after i said the street names i heard sirens... nothing happened to the guy he actually wa told to leave and came back to change his story about who was driving... i think i am going to have his insurance pay for my damage due to his immature way of handlking with threatening me with a bat and chasing me the police report has all that info and i think it can go against him i have a clean record with license and insurance and def dont need a hefty claim like this going through
LOL good luck with that.

Sorry to hear about your car, but he didn't cause you to overdrive your car, nor was he the cause of your friend's (or yours if that happened) burnout.

Next time just call the cops to report that someone is following you, or drive to a police station instead of wrecking your car.

Due to the lack of appropriate grammar and nonexistent punctuation, it took me awhile to figure out what happened. Let me give it a try...

1. You and your friends were acting a fool in someones neighborhood-- doing burnouts and such.

2. One of the residents of said neighborhood got pissed (can you blame him?)

3. He followed you, so to avoid getting in trouble, you tried to lose him by driving fast in another neighborhood.

4. You wrecked your car into a tree. It may be totalled.

5. You came on here expecting sympathy.

6. You stated that you "are 21, but not a punk as".

Is this accurate?

Sorry about your car, man... That does indeed suck, but I wouldn't expect anyone to feel sorry for you.

was looking for no sympathy just stating was in an accident and was curious about if anyone knows what to expect by damage to an s2k if they will total it. i am not a punk as 21 year old YOU DONT KNOW ME dont play the "PROFILING" game! i simply put this up so a couple people i talk to on a regular basis know whats up and to see about what the damages lead to. and yes a buddy was being an idiot no one told him to do it. but let me ask if you are behind someone doing a burnout and there is no way around him to the only way out how is that your fault to be "put on the spot" he did not actually assault me he pulled the bat after the crash and started towards my car. i then pulled forward away from him to call 911. i feel the adrenaline rush was what led me to take off. and the grammar being poor sorry i didnt know i was in english/comp class again. i found out a simple answer i needed and if i would have just asked the question instead of explain what happened i am sure someone would have asked what happened. i need no sympathy whats so ever and if you cant help with a simple question i asked then no need to reply. Thanks. BTW Brownsound thanks for the info. hopefully this wont be a total loss on the car and that it will be fixable. i have only been to a couple meets and want to do more.

LOL. Thats what I was thinking Matt when readin his OP. Both on his grammer ,because I had to read it over 3 times just to understand what he was trying to type, and how his story led from a burnout to him getting chased with a baseball bat. Should be more careful with this car. It can be unforgiving when pushed the wrong way.

GL with the car and insurance.

I would say by the description of damages and your car being a 2000 , start looking for your next car Good luck with the insurance company . If you had called the police while it was happening they may have hit the truck driver with a Felony assuly charge , Using a car in that manner is assult with a deadly weapon(felony) and can be prosecuted . Yes a car can be concidered a deadly weapon by law . Also he could have been hit with a road rage charge too . Live and learn .
