Default Where are the good driving roads?

What's up guys? Ive been in the Clearwater/Tampa area for about 6 months now and in that time Ive really struggled to enjoy the s2000 here. Between all the traffic and stop lights its just not very fun to drive around here.

So I'm wondering where are the cruising roads in the area? Also, any cool places to take car pictures where there aren't a million people?

The highest elevation in Florida is 345 feet (!) so don't expect any hills.

Motorcycles seek the same backroads we do and there are websites listing good roads.

I know your pain, lol. there's a lot of good roads in dade city and around brooksville and those areas, they are just about an hour north of tampa. check out bellamy brothers blvd, another good road off of that is hayman rd. also jessamine rd in dade city. all of the roads in that area are nice country back roads to cruise. Man, it's been a while since I've posted in here, it's sad to see how dead this forum has gotten...

I dont really care about hills, just would like a 45-55mph back road that I could hop on and cruise without stopping every half a mile for a red light or in a bunch of traffic.

I may have to check some of those out. Im still a little reluctant to drive the car too far away from my house because I really dont have that many miles on my turbo setup yet so I still dont fully trust it to not leave me stranded somewhere lol.

Ive found if I go out on a week night I can cruise across the courtney causeway without too much traffic. There's no way around the stop lights though.

The motorcycle guys use an app called Rever to plan their rides. I have it as one of the local Miata guys uses it to plan drives for his group (wife has a 2019 RF). When I was in Ocala recently, I got an alert from Rever re: "Central Florida Drives" that had 3 or 4 really nice looking rides throughout central FL. Maybe try downloading the app to see if it can assist?

Hey there - join this group.. Drive Florida. They have free driving events throughout the year (just had one this weekend). You meetup at Marker 48 Brewing.. go on a mapped out drive on country roads and meet back at the brewery for lunch.

They also have longer drive events for a fee that are coordinated and a lot of fun too. Some are a full day and others are multi-day and may include a track day.

https://drive-florida.com

They also have a FB page and other social media
