Accurate Cars in LaVergne?
#12
Finally made it up there today so I thought I should post my experience to sorta "wrap up" the thread. Overall, its very obviously a well-kept, professional place. The three S2000's they had were all very clean (didn't look at their other cars). In particular I was looking at an 03 w/ 41k on it. Very clean overall, only two blemishes worth noticing (vertical dent in the rear fender and an odd scratch in the front fender). Looked like they had definitely made an effort to clean the car up, even the engine bay was dirt-free. Talking with them, they really seemed intent on finding and selling quality cars.
Unfortunately, they were unwilling to deal on a price that, frankly, was at least a grand over what the market price currently appears to be. If you can work an acceptable price w/ them though, I'd definitely recommend them. I'll certainly keep my eye on their stock in the future.

the S market prices have had the bottom fallen out of them in the past year, used ones aren't worth shit anymore.

my main thing is..the value of a car is what a person is willing to pay for it...you may not wanna pay it...but if they have enough interest...someone will...

You're right, things are worth precisely what someone is willing to pay for them (ex. baseball cards). I've been keeping my eye on Autotrader for the last couple months though and in my 75 mile radius, none of the S2000's are moving. Ultimately though, a dealer just has to balance floorplan costs, depreciation, and use of sales space vs. how much more they can get from a sucker. There's probably a lot of analysis that could be done in that arena... (ok, my physicist self is showing through, I'll shut up lol)
