Default Canadians invading the Dragon This Weekend

Heh Guys,

A few of us from Ontario, Canada are coming down to the Tennessee area to try out the dragon from Thurs to Mon. Any must do's while in the area? Planning on checking out the Cherohala Skyway and Blue Ridge Parkway as well. Looking for some good BBQ spots ..... any insight is appreciated.

Wait you guys are leaving during the NHL playoffs? Isnt that sacrilegous for Canadians?

As for the dragon...is this your groups first time there? If so id pick up some Dramamine and fill up on gas in Alcoa. Gas in fontana is expensive as crap (to us) and Robbinsville (the next closest town is a 30 minute drive).

BBQ, well, coming from Detroit myself, just about anything down here is better then what I got in Michigan. Otts (i think out of business now) Famous Dave's and some place out in Maryville (cant remember the name) are all good choices. Other members here will probably have better suggestions that are closer to Alcoa.

Would you guys be interested in meeting up with some of us locals? I have a lot of family coming in town for Sat night but I could make it up there in the morning.

If you take the Cherola Parkway, I highly recommend you check out the Bistro by the River. Check out the lunch and dinner menus...

Where are you planning to set up camp? That would give locals better ideas for possibilities.

We will be about 1/2 hr from where the Foothills Pkwy meets up with US129. The wives wanted a nice log cabin at the base of the Smokies.

On 321? Or actually on 129?
