Default Everything Autocross

I thought it would be nice to have a general autocross thread. Mainly because I want to learn more and there seem to be more and more people interested.

I'm also very interested in the school on the 18th.

What class is everyone running in? I know there is a ton of info in the racing and comp forum but perhaps we can share setup advice in here as well.

I'm running in AS on 245/45 all around v710s and a custom Saner FSB (4th hole) set to its stiffest setting. I was worried that even with the extra hole the bar wouldn't be stiff enough to keep the inside rear down but so far after 22 runs in 2 events (same lot though and not the stickiest surface) I haven't had a single issue with it. I'm struggling a bit with tire pressures on the v710s though. Anyone have suggestions?

I've been a member of the ETRSCCA for like 9 or 10 yrs now...though the last 1-2yrs my attendance has been kind of sparce, got kind of bored w/ autocrossing. Most events I'd only run 3-4 of my runs and not bother w/ the rest just because...lol I also started doing a few track days here and there ~3-4yrs ago which is leaps and bounds more enjoyable to me...though $$$$$$$$$$ compared to autocrossing when it comes to entry costs and getting to events, etc.

I'm not claiming to be any expert @ it, but I feel like I'd be more than able to ride along w/ most anyone and be able to help them out in some capacity. So if more people are getting interested in it I won't mind showing up just to ride along w/ others to offer pointers.

As far as the school basically they setup a course on Sat and you drive it 37412357198 times w/ differ instructors in your car and they will also drive your car as well to show you somethings. Then Sun they setup a course and the school attendees and workers get to participate in it. If you plan on doing the school have a good set of tires or be ready to get another set as several students have gone through a new set of tires during the school. Now this is of course over simplifired, if you are fairly new to autocrossing you will learn a TON from the school as ETR is gifted w/ having A LOT of very talented nationally competitive drivers who aren't afraid to spend time w/ you, even @ normal events not just the schools.

As far as tire pressures are concerned, I was never to concerned w/ it if my tires were rolling over I added pressure, if not I left them be. Now when I autocrossed my Accord I would pump up the rears quite a bit as it would allow the car to rotate a lot better, w/ the s2k I'm usually spending more time keeping the rear behind me than anything else...

I'll be glad to answer any other questions you guys have, just ask away.

I just got my tires, but there is no way I can waste them with my job being cut back. :-(

So I went ahead and registered for the school. There's 5 of 20 spots left open still. It filled up fast. They said it wouldn't be that bad on my tires.

Hey Matt, it is $85.00, you need to send to a paypal account. There is a sticky on the ETRSCCA forum with all the info. You should do it, it is very eye-opening.
