More autox vids!

I'm 3 for 3 now

Here is Virginia Motorsports Park last weekend:

I drove very poorly at this event. I won my class but probably shouldn't have. I think I got too anxious and wound up severely overdriving the car. I know the car was capable of at least 54 second runs but I only managed a 56.7.

And a PCA event at Verona yesterday:

I had at least another 1.5 seconds in the car yesterday (ie I recognized exactly where to pick the time up on course, I'm sure there is a lot more I didn't notice). I managed 4th overall and 2nd in the "other cars" category, but I beat the 3 other cars that would have been in AS and/or BSP. I'm certainly becoming much more confident and smooth as I get more and more used to the car and the ability to toss it around still suprises me. If when watching these runs you guys can spot any errors on my part please point them out, I'm just trying to learn and become a better driver!

I'm having major issues with filming these runs, the camera shakes so much with the mount I'm using that its almost unwatchable (and the shaking wrecks the audio). I'm going to experiment with running an external mic to the passenger seat footwell where there is no wind/camera shaking at the next event. I'm also going to work on fabbing up a better munting bracket for the Modifry mount to help stabilize the camera better.

Cool videos! Whats the SCCA rules on cameras? Inside only? I've been wanting to get a good mount. Suction cup mount for outside of the car when going to the dragon. Maybe an inside mount too.

I'm pretty sure that you can put them anywhere on the car so long as they are properly secured. A few people who run in the BRR region are using external mounts (usually suction cup mounts).

You can call SCCA member services and request a dual membership, so you can join the ETRSCCA - shouldn't be more than ten dollars.

I'm a dual member of TRSCCA and ETRSCCA (this is how I know).

Now you don't have an excuse not to come to MECO.

hahaha well damn. I do have one more excuse... I'm planning on attending the divisional on the 25th-26th so money is tight.

I'm going to do everything I can to make it to this, I think it'll be invaluable seat time especially heading into the divisonal! I may have to run the school on street tires (probably a good thing but the car acts so differently on streets and on Rs) to try and save at least a little bit of life in the 710s though, they have 40 runs on them already and its only been 3 events!!

Hi everyone, just wanted to make sure everyone understood a cool thing about the upcoming school. If you work on Saturday (u get a free lunch, plus you are there getting all the inside info from the teachers), you get a free autox on sunday with just the students and workers; that equals lots of runs!

Are there still open spots? I'd love to attend as a student (I'll probably run on street tires though, I'm already half way through my 710s... 40 runs in 3 weeks ftw) but I need to get the ETR region added to my scca membership first. What is the region number so I can call and do that?

ETR is region 68. There are spots still open if the post has been updated recently.
