Will they? Probably not.

imo they have been dying at least here in the USA anyways. I just don't see it happening. They did not kill off enough brands with Oldsmobile, they need to ax Buick as well - I mean all their cars are the same (for the most part)

GMC = Chevy Trucks

Pontiac aka certian Chevy models aka certain Saturn models aka certain Buick models.

Hummer - there aren't that many thug NFL players out there to support them

Cadillac - soon old people will stop buying them as those old people will be us.

you already knew all of that though.

GM needs to have Chevrolet and Cadillac. No other brand has such a diarrhea of offsprung brands as GM does. Keep one line for general consumers and one line for upscale consumers. This idea has worked very well for tons of other (Honda: Acura, Nissan: Infiniti, Toyota:Lexus, etc.) and there's no reason it wouldn't work for them. I agree with what Vad said in needing to axe every other brand they have, but keeping a hand in the luxury industry might show people they're not overly desparate, yet.

Yea, I like Saab cars and I refuse to look at them as another dying GM product. To my recollection, GM has kept their paws out of that cookie jar for the most part, and not to mention SAAB is still made in Sweden as well, so that helps.

btw, if I ever get a SAAB, my license plate will be "SNAAB" lolz.

I can only wish they take Ford with them.

Stop building crap, and they could make $$

If the Big Three couldn't still build a decent pickup truck I think they'd all be bankrupt or bought out by now.

GM can still build great cars like the Corvette and XLR but to get that kind of quality the price point ends up being non-competitive and out of reach for most people.

I agree GM should drop more divisions perhaps keeping Chevrolet and Cadillac and produce fewer types of cars with renewed focus on making them appeal to the masses.
