Actually, that was on my 2002 - when I got my 2004 I said I'm not wasting money like that again, so I went the F/I route.

However, I would never go the supercharger route again.

Now what about for specific uses, such as autocross where you want a more flat powerband and no turbo-lag when you run a turbo? For that I can still see a supercharger being the better of the two. Granted I know between the two, for the same amount of money, you can have more whp via a turbo, but still.

To be honest, I don't think F/I is going to be good for autocrossing regardless. You would have to have a very long course in order to use the power that F/I provides. Kaolinte rode with me at an autocross in Greeneville last year, and we could both tell that the additional power was useless. The acceleration in first is totally useless, and second is not-long enough to maximize the powerband, which puts you in third, and you're nowhere near the usuable power range.

Jek also rode with me up and down US-421 a couple of time, and drove as well, and again, the power was useless. We would bounce off the rev-limiter in second because the RPM range would be too low to use third effectively.

I think for autocrossing and some spirited mountain driving, the best modification in the world would be gears, definately gears. I think 4.77 for the AP1 and 4.57 for the AP2.

Good points. As it stands stock, the S2k's powerband isn't awful for autocross anyways.

What about gears to match your what rpm and gear you want to be in with the turbo.

cause if you shorten the gear anymore then what it is given his powerband youll be shifting too much for an auto x course most likely.....chances are you would be in between second and third without really being able to get a sweet spot

Autocross will be different based on course size. Most of what we run here in Chattanooga are 35-40 second courses and I never leave 1st gear. Gotta love redlining at 9k. Not having to shift and being able to concentrate solely on gas and brake is a huge advantage for our car on small courses.

It still amazes me to see Jason (kalonite) run in the top 1-2 with a straight AS car. Our car is a perfect autocross car in AS. Now for me I have to run SM2 because of my purty CF hood and Spoiler .

But coquinn's complaint was that second was to short. So with F/I and gears
that should put you on up into third pretty good. You would be back in the powerband, correct?
