Sweet, sounds like my gf's dad. He has a damn gun store in his house.
For the class, I did a groupon from nRange in Rivergate. 49.99 and it includes a gun rental and ammo.
I recommend them, was a nice class. I've even been back there to use the indoor range.

Couple questions.
1. What is required documentation when you register your car? What if I wanted to register my car at my in-laws..using their address?
2. Are there any private emissions testing facilities?

A. But I have heard of them asking for a bill/license showing address and your name. (usually just a bill)
2. It's my understanding that all testing facilities are ran by (private I guess) companies that win the bid to run them.
A. For example, the term MARTA (which most middle tennesseans call emissions testing)comes from the name of the company that DID have the contract to run them.
B. Davidson county and Wilson county emissions testing is ran by two different companies. Davidson county testing is 9 dollars and Wilson is 10.
Edit: Private as in, maybe a garage that has the equipment to test before you take it in?
I'm just concerned that they need to see my license, which doesn't show the address I'm trying to register at. I have lived at that address before though. Honestly speaking, I'm not trying to circumvent emissions, I picked up a new cat for the car last week (not installed yet) and I'm hoping that stops the codes from coming on. However, if that fails again...then I'd like to make sure it gets registered legally ASAP.
Yea, my sister and brother in law had their car registered at his parents house in East TN as they didn't have testing either. her civic would not pass(even after $2000 was put into it to try and fix it)
I think the car was registered under his parents name though(which his son has the same name so, wasn't too fishy looking)

I think you need 1 primary ID and 2 secondary. If you use IDs that don't have your address on them I guess you'd be able to register it where you'd like. Say, Birth cert, work ID, and check stub. Or bank statement maybe.

I'm not sure if anyone has the equip to test.. If it were me I would just spend the 9 dollars and test it. They will give you the code that computer shows. It's good for 30 days. I tested mine 3 times for 9 dollars when mine wouldn't pass. Mine had an aem stand alone in it so I was screwed either way. I ended up sending my mom to columbia to reg it since I was out of town. They were happy to take my tax money on the purchase. No questions asked.
Yeah, I can't get the CEL to stay off. Granted, I haven't put the cat on yet. It seems the previous owner had a shop weld an extension on instead of using the antifoulers. Well, I think the code is being thrown because the o2 is too far away from the stream. That...or the sensor is bad. Who knows, but again...I dont want to spend weeks sorting this out. The car runs perfect. Stupid CEL. LOL
