335i is even worse...buddy of ours here in LA traded his MB C32 in for a 335i. Dark Green on an orange-y leather, no options. Relatively bone stock, he took it to Willow Springs Raceway, one of the fastest tracks in the west (read: lots of Autobahnen-type airflow). Within 10min, the engine was already in failsafe.
335i in our... ummm....errr.... testfleetinarizona... also overheats, even in spring & autumn.
So for a me to overheat a 328i, and not even flogging on it as I would a track... quite a disappointment.

Didn't someone else's G go into limp mode recently on a track....
I think so.
I think so.I used to like the 3-series before this past week, driving them; my perception of the E90-generation of 3-series has changed for the worse. There used to be a time when BMW would supremely overengineer their cars. Clearly, not anymore.

Fuel starvation/slosh affects most any vehicle on the track. From what I read on this here forum (!), the S is particularly vulnerable to that...

All you need to do is upgrade the oil cooler on the 335i and there shouldn't be any more overheating issues. The N54 is a badass motor. It is their first turbo engine in decades. I'm sure they will work out all the kinks.

I never really liked BMW's that much to begin with, I liked the E46 M3's and I like the E90's styling, and the 335i sedan drove nice, we'll see how much I really like this 335i coupe when I get it. Once I can really spend some time in it I'll evaluate more on it. Probably, almost obviously not a good track car, but should be fun for a DD for a while until I can figure out something I really want to spend time building.
this is a perfect example of impulse buying.

is feeling better.
