Well I parked and went inside school at 7:50.

During 2nd block a kid comes up to me and proceeds to tell me that he hit my car. My heart sank.

I go outside to survey the damage and this is what I find.

You can tell where the bumper is about 1/3 inch lower than what it used to be.


Compared to the other side.





It's not horrible. But I'm pretty anal about my car. I filed a police report and I'm going to get quotes tomorrow.

He has agreed to pay out of pocket for the highest quote I find. So I probably won't report it to his insurance.

Any tips anyone could give me?

 

Honestly.....Cut him some slack. Same thing happened to me (not in the S) and they drove off.

Other than that, ask around the dealerships to find the best paint guy in town, and take it there.

Looks to me like about $500 if you replace bumper. $200 if you spray and blend only.

 

Oh I've cut him slack. Thats why I'm letting him pay without insurance and having to get a ride while my car is in the shop.

I'll probably replace the bumper. I want it back in the perfect condition it was in.

 

Ask questions about the paint shop if you don't order a new one from Honda. Your best bet may be to look for a berlina AP1 bumper in the FS boards. Not to mention, that will buff out fairly well (apart from the bumper now misfitting).

sorry man ive been there to altought my damage was a lil worse and self inflicted and i used a local shop in jc if you live really close its called T and T body works its located on austin springs road they did my car and you cant tell form looking

 

ouch...this sucks jamie, but atleast props to the kid for owning up to this. Ive got a website that you can get a rear bumper new unpainted for something like 250. its on my work computer and will send it your way tomorrow.....hope things work out for you

 

I just got my car out of the body shop and looks like another berlina is going back in!

 

Damn that sucks but yeah at least he owned up to it.

I had a girl do that one night to my DD civic and she came to me bout ready to cry and I just told her to go on and not to worry bout it. I could barely see where she hit it and it just blended in with the rest of the battle wounds. I thought she was gonna rape me she was so happy, lol.

But now with the S, thats a completely different story.

 

wait wait....what?! My fellow hotties section s will be very dissapointed in you lol....... j/k. Ive done this too....when i was in senior i drove a Saab 900S convert. The thing was an absolute tank. Well i saw this chick hit the bumper pulling into a spot and watched. Sure enough she came over owned up too it and after checking it out it wasnt worth the hastle so i told her to take off. I ran into her a few years later at a bar on campus and she picked up my bar tab for the night so it was all good
