in reference to linky 1, what kind of grease should be used?
Sorry, don't know. I'm not sure if it says in those threads or not. Probably some kinda high temp urea grease or something.

there we go..sorry trying to show pics of why I think my master is leaking..Spa- Ive already tried these fixes..works for a day or two then back to stiff pedal again..
Perhaps your boot is leaking all the grease out? What did it look like the when you fixed it for a second time? Grease, or no grease? Perhaps you need a different type. It seems to me that if it fixes it, then that's what the problem is. Now you just have to figure out why it only fixes it for a little bit and then goes back. I'm not sure what my master cyl looks like at the spot you've pictured, so I don't know if it's supposed to look like that or not. It looks like there plenty of grease there though, so I can't imagine that would be the source of the trouble for the symptoms you're describing.

wandering if the master is leaking out right there and causing the grease to be all runny and messy right there..I was hoping someone could look under their dash by their floorboard and see if theirs looks like that..

anyone else had a chance to look in their floorboard where the pedal is and see if their master cylinder looked like that? is that grease supposed to be wet and clumped everywhere or is that a leak?
