A flash game of how to park. Youre a man first, and its wicked easy, and then you do it as a woman, and its impossible.

ok im changing the tone of this thread.......i need to rant and badly before i take someone to HR here.

Let me start at the beginning.....I was hired into my sales position 6 months ago. I filled a spot left by someone that was placed on long term disability 6 months before that. Since then I have met him once in passing when he came through and toured the office.

Here is what happened.......Im checking my voicemails this morning and I get a message from this person. They say "Oh i was trying to reach "so and so" and dont know why but i keep getting your ext." "Anyway, i wanted to let you know that i used to work there and hope to be coming back soon. Ive heard your name mentioned a couple of times and wanted to let you know that im a minister for the Lord Jesus Christ and am about to become a pastor for our baptist church in XXXX. I wanted to let you know that im praying for you and hope God has a great plan for you. Myself and my church are praying for you".

WTF!!! IM AT F-ING WORK!!! Do some people have no respect for appropriateness anymore? When was this something that would be ok to send to someone AT WORK. Much less someone you only know in passing!!!!!!! Im try to be as tolerant as I can in respect to people's beliefs and religions but this is just crazy. Im really having a hard time with what to do on this. The person ment well but really!! What if I were Jewish or Muslim?

I was asked take a cover off of a book I was reading because it "may have been offensive" so some of my Christian co-workers...I bit my tongue and did so even though there is no stopping the hanging of Christian symbolism everywhere (not to mention various messages in people's email signatures!!) URGGG!!! So pissed off right now its rediculous...ill update later i need a smoke.

Kyle,

I would just let it blow over, man. No harm no foul. You must seem to be a magnet for that stuff (referring to your UT band experiences rant)

Let it pass. No real harm done, maybe it's not fair, but no one (realistically) expects life to be. The guy's intentions are good and at least he cares about you and is doing the best he knows how to do to show that. It could be worse. I'll take a guy like him over the many people that routinely seem to say "screw you" or expect you to rush in and save them from their own stupidity and mistakes.

And enjoy your smoke.

Yea man, just let is pass. That isn't something Id let get to me (granted Im not as anti-religion as you), but even if I was, I would just shrug it off and know that he means well. Yea it may seem sort of obnoxious to you, but Im sure you seem awfully obnoxious to him by not believing in what he does. Its not worth getting in a hissy over and while it may not have been 100% appropriate for work, theres worse things he could have said.

anti religion or not has nothing really to do with this. Its more about professionalism. Him and I have never spoken about religion before. Like I said we spoke ONCE and it consisted of..."So your the new guy right?" (me - "yup") "Well, good to meet you and good luck". Im more upset of how unprofessional and presumptious the message was.

Grainger -

I really like your idea...I think I might just do that. Still cooling off a bit so im waiting till a cooler head prevails....
