sounds kinda scarey to me. What if the sensor that tells the belt to stop retracting goes out in the accident? then does it no retract at all or retract to far and give people that terrible seat belt burn
According to Brian (MY04), our casualty from this past weekend, the pretensioner does retract upon impact that's hard enough to deploy the airbags ... and additinally, there is a pin where the belt attached to the car that inserts through the belt to keep it permanently locked. That will make it harder to get out of the belt, but you'll be firmly held against the seat when the bag hits you.

So if you have to replace your bags, you can count on replacing the seatbelts too.




BTW ... thanks for hosting SESM over in your neck of the woods ... it was a great setting and I think everyone had a blast!
