So there had been speculation the last few months that GE was doing some crazy things with its appliance business. like buying a previous whirlpool exclusive tp ( that was performing unprofitably for us) for millions of dollars.

After their first quarter earns rumors started that they may be selling off their appliance business. well today news broke that GE will be auctioning off its appliance business that it has had since 1907!! I know no one else probably cares but me because of the appliances but it tells you a lot about the economy and what not

really? i had no idea that they were auctioning off their appliance business.

Im actually an appliance salesman and when we attended a seminar for GE appliances, they didnt mention anything about this issue, they were also showing us what was planned for 08 and the new models coming out.

pretty interesting.

btw, Loons, do you work for GE or whirlpool.

i know a couple of both companies sales reps and i wonder if you know them as well.

Whirlpool- Kendra Key
GE - Neil Shuhart (sp?)

I work for whirlpool. i dont know the ge guy (i do all my business out of texas so if he is local i wouldnt really have a clue) as for kendra i looked her up and she is a contractor for us.

Where did you say you work?

Im not surprised GE would have said anything to anyone but when they went into patent deals with LG we had an idea something was up, not to mention my above post. None of my trade customers had heard anything either but It will be interesting to see what happens

Woke up at 9:45 to Matt's ring tone, coffee is brewing, bacon and egg is crackling in the pan, toast is in the toaster, and the newspaper is on the couch. I get/have to clean/organize/straighten up the house after the company mess blew through. It's good to be home.
