I've had inner CV joints cause a vibration even though the drive cups of the inner CV housing look perfect.
What's the cause/solution there?

I don't mind spending money on parts/labor to solve the problem. My concern is the slippery slope of replacing half the car with no benefit.

Replace the Inner CV's and tripods with new OEM stuff.

BGS2k04's (Another tech at work who had a 04) car vibrated and the inner CV's looked perfect. New ones were the solution.

I've seen several rebuilt axles were the inner joints are machined oversize for larger Tripod rollers. They seem to bind during axle movement.

Radial force variation is still a possibility.

But if the original axles were fine, how are new ones different?

The originals could of had the same issue the rebuilt ones do... Some of the rebuilders just replace boots and slap some paint on them.

What suspension is on the car? Is the ride height adjustable?

I would have to do a parts swap to prove the rebuilt axles are bad before I could justify replacing them again after only 1 week of use

I guess what I'm asking is what was wrong with the original cups if they looked perfect? They were from the factory, so they weren't machined to a larger size...

I've got a Koni/Eibach suspension 1" drop. Ride height is fixed.

Could be a clearance issue with the cups/roller. Driveshaft spacers would change were the roller rides in the cup, and may change your issue, but I wouldn't count on it.

Have you looked at the rear diff mounts for leakage?

Yeah, I'm not counting on it, but it's worth a try from my perspective. If not, how often do you come up for the MC meets?
