tent on plastic back window?

tent on plastic back window?
has anyone had luck tenting the back withdow in their 00-03 s2k? i know that the window folds up when the top is down and i dont want to waste my time tenting it if its not going to work. let me know if you have a tented plastic back window in your s2k.. thanks for the help.. later

If the site search worked properly I could point you to some threads showing how this has been done by others....... but it doesn't.
You'll have to try searching yourself.
If you're going to tint the inside you may also want to consider something to protect your window from the hard plastic interior of the roof well.

Several thoughts on this:
1) Tinting the back window with a high quality tint might work if you use the "towel trick" where you place a towel inside the top every time you open it so that it doesn't rub against itself. I'm not much a tint expert though.
2) An upgrade to a glass top is possible and then you could both tint it and get the defroster. However, this option is $Texas...probably no good.
3) A guy that I met up at the Dragon in an S had a sheet of black plastic cut so that it perfectly fit the back window and it stayed on there great. I think this is the best option. It's also cheap. It sounds like it wouldn't look good, but his car looked great with it, and he never had any trouble with it staying on even when moving the top up and down. This is definitely your best option if you can do it right.

I have had mine tinted for about a year on the outside. I cut out some cardboard and glued some soft fabric to it and velcroed it down in the well to prevent it from rolling around in the well during top up driving. It has worked well for me. I tried to get my upholstery/tint guy to do it and he wouldn't even do it for me. He said that it's almost impossible to keep it on there and have it look nice.

It's not very difficult. I have done it twice and I have not had any problems putting it on or taking it off. You must use static cling tint though. Most places have no idea that static cling tint even exists. You can get it at most automotive places or Lowes or Home Depot. Purehonda2000 just did it and he didn't seem to have much problem. If you read the DIY thread you'll find the ease and practicality of it.
