Ok, he couldnt get them quite in the right sizes. Im going with:

205/55/16 and 245/50/16. Thats not going to mess anything up is it? I can get a GREAT deal on those (less than what I posted at first), and I cant imagine that a little taller sidewall on both is going to negate tons of performance. Keep in mind, this is my daily, and a very rare dragon run (just on the 26th and then DBR), so I think i should be fine.

Thanks,
Matt

You should be fine as far as performance. Keep in mind though that with about 25mm more diameter on the rear you'll be going slightly faster than your speedo reads and putting slightly fewer miles on the odo than you'll have travelled.

Im ok with that. However, can't I use one of those "yellow boxes" to correct all that?

looks for me. To me the 55s are too large on our cars and look out of place. Makes it look like you jacked wheels off a CR-V with that large of a side wall.

not to mention the 55s are going to increase the body roll of the car. 50s will have a bit stiffer of a sidewall and prevent that without the increase in tire pressure.

Meh, maybe so, but for now, being completely stock, I wont mind them at all. Also, the tires on the car now are 55's and I dont think they look bad at all.

I dont know man, I got so confused. I just said screw it and got the Kumho's. And if your Kumho's don't look heinous (nice word), then Im not worried about mine one bit. :-)

I'm confused. That is the series and size that is OEM for the car. What would throw off the speedometer?

Using standard measurements. i.e. "50 series," should result in tires with repeatable ODs.

Are you saying that the SO2s are a different diameter than other 50 series 16" tires?
Ok. The second number in the size specification is the aspect ratio. It's basically a percentage of the tread width in relation to the sidewall heigth. So if we look at the following possible rear sizes for example:

225/50/16 - OEM S-02
245/45/16 - Aftermarket 1
245/50/16 - Aftermarket 2

we get the following sidewall height in millimeters:

225 x .50 = 112.50
245 x .45 = 110.25
245 x .50 = 122.50

so as you can see the differences are:

S-02 vs. aftermarket 1 (x 2 for twice the radius)
112.50 - 110.25 = 2.25 mm x 2 = 4.5 mm (smaller)

S-02 vs. aftermarket 2
112.50 - 122.50 = -10.00 mm x 2 = -20.00 mm (larger)

That's all I've got. My brain's tired.
