Now I'm guilty of not having an alarm @ the time of my wheels getting stolen, but I don't believe I am the only one to not have an alarm. If you car has been messed, lets hear about if you had an alarm at the time. If so tell us if and how they disabled it or got around it.

Yes please let us know how much they hack up the entire stock system in order to install it.

 

I got a K9 alarm with the radar sensor, so that I can leave the top down and still be protected, for around $300 installed. The factory alarm still works as well. It works great, I have had it for over a year with no problems.

 

does it come w/ a pager device and where did you get the alarm installed?

 

I got it at Team Dynamic Sounds on Fredericksburg and 410. They were really cool and honest. They did both of my cars stereo installs and this alarm.

 

I won't post what type of system I bought, It kind of defeats the purpose. I paid over $700 and I am very happy with the install, and the stock system does nothing to prevent theft from the vehicle, which if you read my other recent postings, you would understand the reason for getting an alarm.

My original posting was asking if anyone had ever had an alarm defeated by the crooks and how it was defeated. Anyhow, thanks for the responses.

 

I had a viper on my teg with a page system. one night it actually woke me up!! (damn cat) cat+proximity sensor = no sleep. and best buy installed. lifetime warranty on installation. you can get backup horn too. it will keep going off even when driving you need a key to turn it off!!
