Another New S2KI.com member
Hey everyone,
I am lucky enough to own a '04 Berlina Black. I am originally from Chicago so owning an S2K is challenging due to the winter season up there (can't imagine owning an S2K and having to keep it in storage for 4 months a year). I was wondering if there are any scheduled group rides in Austin in the near future, would like to meet fellow S2K drivers.

Welcome to Austin. I just returned from a weekend drive to Chicago and back and have a new found appreciation for our mild winter. I witnessed a large flooded area near Kankakee that was probably once a small town. The bad news was the floodwaters were also FROZEN! Picture your car locked in a sheet of ice up to the windows.
Although I have no information about any informal drives scheduled this month there are two activities on the calendar in February. Unfortunately they're both scheduled the same day.
The Austin Lotus Elise group is hosting their monthly drive on the 19th of February. Look in this forum for pictures from the last two month's drives. All car makes are welcome.
The North Texas S2000 Owners' Club is also holding the first of seven AutoX events at Mineral Wells Airpark on the 19th. This is more of a road course than a typical AutoX with tons of lap time on a very long course. If you can finish in less than a minute and a half you're flying!
Keep an eye on this forum for Austin and San Antonio events including group drives, AutoX, dinners and happy hour.

There's a drive scheduled Saturday morning, destination:Cooper's BBQ in Llano.

Also, don't forget the Thursday Night Karting League at Iron Rock Raceway starts tomorrow evening at 7 PM. All you need is about three hours of spare time and $35-$50 depending on how many races you wish to run! Helmets and safety gear included.
