I experienced a similar situation today (dealing with morons). When I originally bought my new S 2000 in Louisiana last month, the dealer slapped a Louisiana inspection sticker on it.

I went to 8 different inspection stations today in San Antonio. Reason - Wasn't gonna let just any idiot test drive my car with out me in it. Some excuses were "You can't be in the car when we test drive it". My response "You will not be setting foot in it then". They have to do that to see if the brakes work properly (give me a break!).

After dealing with the smartass jerks at Valvoline, I finally found a good inspection station (Texaco on West Ave).

Why would you get it re-inspected so soon? I bought my car in LA, and kept the LA inspection sticker until it expired a year later.

I had no problems, it even passed two "roadside inspections" by the men in blue...

I had to get mine inspected because the bank I got the loan through did my registration. They said they needed the green sheet the inspection stations give to send in to get the tag. Otherwise, I would have held off on the inspection for a year.

That's strange, since Moss Motors handled my registration the same as if it was a local dealer...although no bank was involved.

Same here. I received the TX plates in the mail before I had it inspected in TX. Both the salesman and the F& I explained that the LA inspection sticker will need to be replaced with a TX version.

I liked the LA sticker better than the TX.
