Default CEL reader? Check Engine light on!?!?

Well yesterday driving home from work, my check engine light popped on. I was getting on the highway at a high rev to get some speed to get around the person in front of me, then my check engine light popped on. Don't know what could have caused it but don't want to spend lots at the dealer for a diagnostic. If someone knows someone or has a reader, please let me know!

Take it to Autozone, they'll read the code for free.

I'll bet a cylinder engine misfire code...

If it's blinking then do NOT drive it.

Probably a evap code, gascap malfunction. Mine did it once, then I was told a way to put the cap on so it doesn't happen anymore.

Well got home and checked the S (Drove my teggie today) and just for $hits and giggles checked the gas cap. It was super duper loose...tightened it up and reset the ECU.

Urban - How do you keep it from coming loose? It's a brand new cap I purchased a month ago.....

Don't be afraid of the click. Tighten it until it clicks several times. If you read the manual I think it specifies at least 3 clicks or something, but I usually give it a good solid twist after it starts clicking.
