I turn it by the SIDES of the cap until hear at least 5 clicks, then, grab the cap by the handle itself, and wait till I hear three clicks. It may seem OCD (maybe because I AM OCD, lol) but it's never happened to me again. It happens because the AP1 gas filler neck is at such an extreme angle.

No but a loose gascap will cause a Check Engine light. I just reset the ECU and if it comes on again and its not my cap..Ill go get it checked.
