this is just to show that even a v8 with twice the rotating mass as a 4 cylinder can still safely hit 9k. like i said before it is truly amazing.
the fact that the lsx is light and its power, this makes it a great engine.

just something to think about.

I think that honda should have put a v6 or v8 block in the s2000 and then used the current head they use now, i think it would have made one heck of a monster and still have retained the cornering ability, this is all my opinion, but what do i know.

I read a magazine article that discussed this idea in some detail. Dont remember what magazine, but I do remember it discussing that honda went with a 4cyl to keep it a little more rooted with its predecessor, the S600

does it still get 20-25mpg mixed driving? keep in mind, honda's still a 'green' company, which is why they mainly produce 4- and 6-cylinder engines.

just something to think about....

Wouldn't just be 100lb added, you would also need tranny and at very least a new driveshaft. Plus the fitment.....bleh. Sounds crazy though, but seriously the lsx isn't that amazing of a motor. Our car is what 240hp on a 2L, LS1 is 300hp with 5.7L. I had a modded out Z28 LS1 for a while, will never go back.

i dont know about that, i only get 23 on the highway, some trucks with v8s get better than that, my brotherinlaws GM gets better gas milage than me. so if they are a green company why does this 4 banger only get 20 to 25mpg.
not trying to knock the car or the motor, because i love it, just poseing a question, thats all

and i know, i cant spell.

putting any other motor in the S is pointless...

Really kills the car's main purpose of the car... If you really wanted that kind of power you should have gone out and bought a Camaro or Mustang that you can mod for that kind of power.... Al you would really be able to do is go in straight line with any V8 in the S... Unless you have deep pockets to mod the crap out of the car to keep it reliable and make sure that everything works the way its suppose to...
