clutch problem

Default clutch problem

when i drained my clutch fluid and put the new fluid in now my clutch has a mass amount a free play it doesnt engage my clutch until it is at the bottom almost to the floor i bleed it there was some mudly goo in the bottum of my master cyl just need some help need to know if i need to get new slave cyl and clutch lines

So are you saying that the clutch engages too closely to the floor? That's generally where you want it is fairly low to the floor... It should start engaging fairly quickly as your foot starts coming up off of the floor. Maybe it was not right previously and you had air in the line?

Just thinking out loud. Without feeling it, it's hard to tell what's not right. Are you sure you got all of the air out and never let the slave cylinder run dry/empty while you were bleeding it? The reservoir is quite small on the clutch slave cylinder.

the first three inch of the pedal there is nothing it just falls like there is no resistince. i called honda they told me there is a adjustment on the pedal that is what it sounded like to the tech so im going to try it

Are you sure you bled all the air out of it? Usually if you remove old contaminated fluid and replace it with new you'll get a little stiff pedal. If anything it should stay the same.

But if you bled it as much as its gonna let you bleed it there is an adjustment nut on the back of the pedal (a 10 or a 12, i cant remember) which allows you to adjust pedal hight (and subsequently, pedal freeplay).

Yeah, if the first three inches are dead, don't adjust the pedal itself. Get the air out of the system, first... That definitely sounds like you didn't bleed it properly.
