Default coilover install help

OK so I took the day off of work to try and install my buddyclub n+ but I couldn't even get the oem suspension off. I'm ashamed. The service manual says I have to remove the low arm ball joint and it shows some special tools you will need to do so. I don't have those tools and I've never messed with a ball joint before. Is there a way around this? I removed the bottom bolt and two top nuts and for the life of me I could not get the thing to come out. I could not get enough room to clear the lower damper from the lower arm. Any advice. I thought about just paying some one to do it and got a price from Meineke for $250 and free alignment after I adjust the ride height. Is that a fair price?

shouldnt be that hard. No need to seperate the ball joints. In the front just remove top bolts and the bottom bolt of the strut. Then remove the two bolts on the upper arm and the arm will swing forward and simply remove the strut.

for the rear its just 3 bolts. Top two bolts and the bottom one. The pain in the ass part tho is getting the bottom bolt to line up once you reinstall. Joe and I had to do it together. I stood on the rotor while Joe lined it up and got the bolt thru.

$250 isnt too bad i suppose.

This should help out. This is to do springs but it should be pretty much the same job. Picture 5 shows the bolts i mentioned above above removing to let the arm swing out...

If I had more time I wouldn't mind giving you a hand for the install but with my job and the fam..it's hard. Yeah suspension installs aren't hard at all.....the hardest is lining things up to reinstall...plus seized items.....

Finally got it done. Yes!!!! For some reason the left front and back were harder to get out then the right sides. Had to rent some spring compressors from autozone and still needed some big srewdrivers for prying. Not sure why they were so hard but at least its done. Now got to dial in the height.

What kind of drops do you guys have? What is too low? I'm thinking I will be somewhere between 1 to 1.5 inch drop over stock.
