Engine ticking/knocking
I was wondering if anyone knew of a well known maching shop that could do the work with no problems?? All your help would be very helpful since I don't know of any right by me, and I would have no problem shipping for great, honest work since I don't have any right by me that I know of.
What exactly is the problem? Thrown rod bearing? Or is it in the top of the motor? I have sources for fine engine work. I need to know your problem then I could tell you the best way to go. I have several people I trust with machine work.
Well first of I would not use the stock crank if it has any sort of damage. You cannot find any oversized bearings and its not wise to grind the crank. In my case when I threw a rod bearing I just went with another brand new OEM honda crank. What you need to find out is if the cyl wall are ok. If they are fine then I wouldnt see you really having to do much of anything but replace the rotating assembly. This is a great time to go to the 2.2L stroker Kit or just built a nice bottom end up. I can get you a sleeved block from ERL if your walls have damage. Then you can choose how to go from there. You can replace your stock crank with a 2.2L F22C crank and then use the F22 Rods or you could go with some custom rods and pistons. It all depends on what you wana do.
