A lot of the info on the WRX boards is crap. The stock TD04 turbo runs out of gas at about 17psi, and that's about where the fuel cut is.

Adding boost without adding fuel will cause it to run lean which is extremely hard on the engine and will also loose power.

But it's a free world hehehe

Back to topic.... hahaha

Actually, running lean will provide *more* power, up until the point at which you start getting detonation, in which you will lose _considerable_ amounts of power from preignition.

But, running lean is also harder on the pistons, valves, etc... Makes things run much hotter than they should.

Exactly. Lean=more power, but increased chance pf detonating. There have been several WRX owners who have had holes blown in their pistons for running 17+ psi daily...

That's why I have a "B" setting on the boost controller for those moments when I need a *tad* more juice hahahaha
